I'm not about to even try to be pretentious enough to presume that I can fully empathize with what the experiences of each of authors of those two Very Negative reviews above, as I wasn't in their shoes.

However, I do have one thing to say in response to part of one of the reviews, being the following: When you make such a sweeping generalisation of a statement about ANY establishment/business as "this place was a poor result" and reinforce said statement with wholly unflattering further descriptions, you do come across as though you are automatically assuming that every other customer also feels the same way as you. This really couldn't be further from the truth!

The "most disgusting curry you have ever tasted" and those "chips that look and taste like they're a week old" is precisely what has the locals from Monaghan going to this establishment IN DROVES to get their take away fix!! We all have our own wee 'twists/takes' on the menu; LOVE the more than generous portion sizes; know exactly what we want & they always make it just so for their regulars, as they know that their locals/fans will keep coming back time and again for it!

FUTURE SUGGESTION: All the locals/a massive % of them ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND CRAVE Our Own wee twist on an old reliable: Try ordering "Chicken Chow Mein with Curry Sauce Over & Under/Top & Bottom; however you prefer to say it, and a portion/half portion/quarter portion (they're about five times the size of your usual chicken ball EACH!) of chicken balls, with a tub of something to dip them in....
I'm drooling just thinking about it!
NOTE: You will not need any salt or pepper to season any of their sauces, that's true, but again -NONE of their regulars ever complain about that, and in fairness, when that's who they're chiefly catering to, why would they change their recipes based on the opinion of an outsider who may never eat there again and alienate their faithful clientele?!... They'd be bonkers to do that!

HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL MYSELF, NOR HAVE I EVER HEARD ANYBODY ELSE COMPLAINING!!

PS Those girls are THAT busy on that phone every night of the week, solid, that they really don't have time to listen to anybody ranting at them (they don't do any of the actual cooking in any case) and would probably get into a bit of bother for listening to someone's incessant complaints (you literally even typed a laundry list, so....... ?!) while there were God alone knows how many other lines attempting to get through at the same time. They don't even hang around on the phone taking your order even when they know you personally!; that's just HOW busy their job, and consequently that establishment, is! Nobody takes any offense; just as they don't intend any to be taken!!

Not usual Chinese that we go to on regular basis. Alot of takeaways busy in monaghan so we decided to try hangfung for a change. First and only time. Food was dreadful and chips looked burned. Ended up throwing majority of it out. Never again.

THE FOOD WAS DREADFUL AND TOTALLY INEDIBLE, SPRING ROLL PRAWNS STILL FROZEN, THE CHIPS LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN MADE A WEEK BEFORE AND WERE A HORRIBLE COLOUR. THE BEEF DISHES WERE SOUR MEAT HAD GONE OFF, THE CHICKEN CURRY WAS THE WORST WE HAD EVER TASTED. WE SPENT OVER €95 ON THE FOOD WHICH WE DUMPED. WHEN WE RANG AND MADE A COMPLAINT THE PHONE WAS HUNG UP ON US.

Very poor food and service. Finding somewhere open in Monahan for a traveller in the evening is a considerable challenge; this place was a poor result.
