A little hole-in-the-wall run by a sweet and funny old lady ~ all the food was delicious and the xiao long bao was one of the better ones I've had in the area!

Best pot stickers I’ve ever had, and best soup dumplings too. The vibes are impeccable- know why you’re here and preparation is key. You are here to follow the rules, eat the delicious food, and pay your respects. Love that this place is in the neighborhood & it’s a fun date night- had a good time along with all the other date nights of people panic ordering in the best way ? Tofu app was also fire ?

Disappointed in the quality and quantity of food. The noodles were $12, potstickers were $13 and the dumplings were $14. All tasted like they were store-bought to me.

Even better than I remembered. How does this place improve on perfection?! I had soup dumplings in Paris recently and they didn’t come close to the flavor of these.

With so many dumpling places popping up nowadays, Lao Wang Noodle House on South Federal probably is one that predated all. The restaurants has been here before the millennium, endured the passing of namesake chef Lao Wang as well as the pandemic. Now Lao Wang's wife and her son carry on the legacy. The restaurant has a pretty simple menu, selling only the staples from all these years, such as potstickers, Xiao Long Bao, Dan Dan noodles, spicy wontons, wonton noodle soup, wonton soup, red chili dumplings, chicken cold noodles, cold noodles, with Taiwanese kimchi, five spice tofu and five spice braised beef shank as appetizers. The famed beef noodle soup was gone with the passage of Lao Wang. The dishes here are the nostalgic Taiwanese mainland style popular in Taiwan in the late 50s to 80s, which differentiated Lao Wang from the newcomers. I would say for many older generation Taiwanese, this was how potstickers, Xiao Long Bao, wonton and cold noodles tasted like in the yesteryear, simple and delicious and certainly a rare find in Denver. Here were their potstickers and Xiao Long Bao. Caution, be sure you abide by Mrs. Wang's rules as specified on the table. She was quite strict about these.

I struggle on this one. Could be so much better, but food small portions for the price - example, half full medium smaller sized bowl of DanDan Noodles $11 - and pretty lackluster atmosphere and service mean much better choices out there. On plus side, easy to find a seat when open, as so few go there any more and dumplings not the worst I have had in Denver.

Never judge a book by its cover. This noodle house is the best. We got the pot stickers, wonton soup, steamed dumplings and braised beef noodles. One word...AMAZING!! Stop on by..have grandma take your order and delight in the flavors.

Probably the most “authentic” Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to... the menus on the wall are inscribed wood panels of Chinese characters, there is only one server/host/busboy/cashier (and elderly Chinese man, probably Lao Wang himself!) and his partner, an elderly Chinese lady who mans the kitchen and is the nicer and more gentler one of the duo. Haha! Very charming indeed. We were thoroughly entertained when Lao Wang would scoot away people at 2:01pm, yelling “CLOSED!” So you do feel very good about yourself for getting through the door and seated before they close at 2:00pm on a Saturday. We needed a soup dumpling fix so we came here for the first time and tried the Dan dan noodles (small portion, not much flavor, but clean tasting), the potstickers (nice crust on the bottom, meat filling was decent), and wontons in chili oil (not much flavor again, very watery). The soup dumplings came and they were very delicious! Unfortunately, it appears to me that they were store bought and re-steamed... still delicious, of course, but I don’t like that nagging feeling that they were store bought. I still ate it! Haha!
