Our final Chinese restaurant before flying off to Portugal, and we definitely enjoyed the meal! ?

Having tried them where they were founded in Taiwan and in Singapore too, we were surprised to know that their standards are maintained globally, other than the fact that their signature pork dumplings are a little different in texture.

? while it’s still a great dumpling, the dough seemed to be a little different, and the pork within as well - broth definitely tasted more or less the same, and goes well with the ginger that they mixed for us

? we also opted for an earl grey lemon tea this time around as it’s their signature tea, and it was a good find! The first sip had an overwhelming taste of earl grey (in a good way), but the remaining sips got relatively muted, though it’s still a good tea

? it did end up close to a whopping £60 for just 4 dishes, which we thought was way too pricey based on what we could get in Taiwan and Singapore

Still a good experience nonetheless, dining in a beautiful and clean establishment with good views

Consistently good dim sums in a glitzy central location; what's not to like! The dim sums are the highlight (shout-out to the Taiwanese fried chicken and pork xiaolongbao) and should be prioritized over larger plates. However, the pork chop dry noodle was pretty great. Don't skip dessert since the custard buns are luscious. Service can be rather slow at times.

This huge restaurant is situated next to Tottenham Court Road on the top floor of a modern building. It's nicely decorated and has a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere with lots of people popping in after shopping, as I did. I was given a table without booking. The food is served as cooked rather than starter and main. I ordered the prawn pancake and beef with noodles. Both delicious! The highlight however was the hot chocolate buns oozing with delicious hot Belgian chocolate. Had I known how good they were, I'd have not bothered with dinner and ordered six of these instead. I'll be going back for more.

The experience at the restaurant was pleasant and enjoyable.
We were a party of 7 and with a reservation it was quick to get to our table.

The restaurant looks nothing out of the ordinary when you see it from outside. Once you have gone up to the restaurant is when you see the grandeur of the place.

Service: The staff were very sweet, gentle and catered to our every small request.
We ordered drinks and appetisers right away and got them pretty soon. The items we ordered second time took a little bit longer in the kitchen.

Food : We ordered a bunch of stuff, mushroom and chicken baos, string beans, broccoli, prawn fried rice, crispy wontons, spicy noodles, Everything was really good and of supreme quality. We like spicy food so we got a spicy chilly sauce on the side. The sauce was great but lacked saltiness, it could have a little salt to go with plain items.

Drinks: We ordered Tai, Fung and Shiso lowball. Totally loved it and some of us re ordered our drinks.

Price: The place is value for money. It was about 55£ per person when we ordered ~9 starters and ~4 main course and ~8 cocktails

It was one of the most amazing din tai Fung experience I have had. We did not make a reservation but managed to get a seating within 20 mins. We could wait at the bar while waiting for a table. The food and service is wonderful too. The truffle mushroom soup was absolutely delicious!

Lovely space overlooking Tottenham Court Road. Also loved the open kitchen and watching the dumplings being made. The food is terrific- loved the spice cucumber and the specialty vegetables. The dumplings all great. It’s a bit pricey - figure at least £30-40 per head - which is a lot for dumplings.

Fourth DTF on a third continent. This one was super clean and I love being able to watch them make the dumplings. The food was good and came out quick. I do wish that you got a bit more for the price, but it was really nice going back to having something that brought back memories of other trips.

The star of the meal was the pork xiao long bao. I have never had one and it has set a high standard.

The string beans (served cold) were very fresh and crisp, flavourful but delicate.

The pork chop fried rice was tasty and more importantly, it didn't leave a greasy feeling in the end.

I recommend getting a few dishes to share if you're visiting with more people.

It was a great experience and the ambience was fantastic. It was also great to see the kitchen and the staff working on the dumplings and dim sum.
